A stay at Smiths Beach Resort gives you the opportunity to create a unique wellness experience specially tailored to your needs. Embrace the surrounding serene natural environment and add on experiences to ensure you maximise your rest and relaxation in the Margaret River Region.
Massage and Spa Treatments
You don’t have to go far for a calming massage treatment because our massage therapist will come to your room. In the winter months, enjoy a soothing treatment in front of the open fireplace and in the summer, throw open the doors and listen to the ocean as you experience deep relaxation.
Another in-room option is using the large soaking tubs available in the Apartments, Villas and Beach Houses. We supply relaxing bath salts to ensure you have everything you need for a calming experience.
If you are seeking more diverse treatment options, take a 5-minute drive to the Yallingup Bodhi Wellness Spa with an extensive menu offering facials, massage, infrared sauna, reiki and more. View the Bodhi Menu.
Get Moving
Moving your body can have long-lasting effects on your mental, emotional and physical state. Most medical professionals recommend at least 30 minutes of structured exercise per day to ensure your muscles are burning glucose and reducing your blood sugar levels. Luckily there are plenty of opportunities to move your body as well as enjoy time spent in nature at Smiths Beach.
Hike in nature
The Cape-to-Cape Track runs directly past the front door of Smiths Beach Resort providing easy access to this exceptional hiking trail without a car or transfer requirement.
The track is 125km in length and runs along the coast between Cape Naturaliste in the North and Cape Leeuwin in the South crossing through beaches, stunning geology, waterfalls, rivers, bushland and small hamlets. You don’t have to complete the full track as a short hike from the resort can also take you past some incredible local landmarks.
While the track is easily hiked solo, those interested in learning more about the area can join a guided tour where the unique flora, fauna, culture and geology will be explained in detail.
Surfing, kayaking and Stand-Up Paddle Boarding
Smiths Beach is home to incredible surf that breaks both left and right. Beginners can take a lesson with our experience partner Yallingup Surf School and the more experienced can either bring their own board or hire one from the school. Don’t forget to check the swell before you head out via our Surf Camera located on the television in each room.
For those that prefer calm waters and a more relaxing pace, Stand Up Paddleboards can also be hired from the surf school.
Snorkelling and Swimming
Borrow a snorkel mask and flippers from the resort to explore the unique underwater world of the South West. A highlight for snorkellers is the nearby Natural Aquarium where the protected rockpool leaves a calm swimming space and lots of fish hiding within the seaweed.
Yoga, Meditation and Sound Healing
Practice calm and look after your physical and mental health by arranging a yoga, meditation or sound healing session in the comfort of your room. Our trusted practitioners can accommodate group or solo lessons. Speak to the reception team via reservations@smithsbeachresort.com.au who can arrange a local practitioner for your requirements.
Cold Water Swimming
Immersing yourself in cold and salty water can have fantastic benefits including boosting your lymphatic and immune system, improving your circulation and heart-health, burning calories, reducing stress and aiding in better digestion. Water temperatures in the ocean surrounding Smiths Beach ranges from 16 degrees Celsius (61 Fahrenheit) in the winter and 21 degrees Celsius (70 Fahrenheit) in the summer.
Beautiful and nearby options where you can swim and embrace nature include:
- Smiths Beach
- Natural Aquarium (rockpool)
- Injidup Natural Spa (rockpool)
- Canal Rocks
- Yallingup Lagoon
Horse Riding
Connecting with animals can have fantastic healing properties. Join a horse-riding adventure through beautiful Australian bush tracks suited to all skills or experience levels. Prebook your horse-ride through our website to ensure you don’t miss out.
Dark Sky Magic
Clear skies and low artificial light pollution leave us with the ideal conditions to stargaze and view the magic of the milky way.
Take a picnic blanket to the beach after dark to watch the stars dance over the ocean or dine alfresco from you accommodation while watching the night sky. If you are interested in learning some of the star constellations unique to the southern hemisphere a phone application such as Nightsky will be able to highlight these stars.
At certain times of year, the Aurora Australis is also visible from Smiths Beach by facing south from the resort. Differing from the Northern Lights, these Southern Lights are characterised by a pink glow with hints of yellow closer to the earth.
