When you think of conferences, the generalised image is usually a group of people sitting around a desk and staring at a presentation on a screen. And while this corporate image has its place, what if there could be a better way to conference?
As the world embraces work from home and hybrid arrangements, the humble corporate retreat as a team building exercise has become even more important.
Treat your team
As the bookend to a busy financial or calendar year, corporate retreats can also be an opportunity to reward your hardworking team with a luxury stay. While the resort has an accommodation type to suit any budget, the premium offering includes the Ocean View Villas or the Premium Beach Houses, both of which have the options of 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms.
Bookings of over 10 rooms are eligible for a group discount and our conferencing team are happy to provide a customised quote.
Traditional vs bespoke conferencing facilities
With two conferencing facilities, Smiths Beach Resort can accommodate group conferencing of up to 50 people in our generous Conference Room near the pool or up to 40 in our intimate Wine Room located next to the reception and restaurant.
Another option is to think outside of the box and we invite guests to creatively utilise the resort grounds as they need. Smaller groups may wish to book a Premium Beach House where the oversized entertaining spaces and ocean views make for a more relaxed approach. Alternatively, groups can set up a custom event space with a marquee on the tennis court or grass areas.
Onsite catering and dining
Whether you require welcome drinks, fine dining, a bonding breakfast or to simply keep the team nourished and caffeinated throughout the day, Lamont’s Restaurant has you covered. The flexible team are happy to work with organisers to customise food and beverage to suit their event.
Popular experiences
Completing non-work related activities together can support team bonding as members discover how colleagues respond to pressure, problem solving and even just have fun. Our location in the heart of the Margaret River Region leaves realms of possibilities for both on and offsite activities.
The benefits of an onsite activity is that you don’t have to arrange transport for larger groups. Options include hiking the Cape-to-Cape Track with a guide, surfing lessons at Smiths Beach, a yoga lesson with a local instructor or have a wine expert take you on a tasting tour of the region without even leaving the resort.
The options are endless for off-site activities with long winery lunches, customised winery tours, experiences with cultural custodians, farm tours, wildlife encounters, cave expeditions, and a plethora of other activities. Explore our experiences and speak to our events team for more ideas.
